Car Week August 13 - 21, 2016 - Carmel by the Sea, California

It is that time of year again; the time when car enthusiasts from across the globe converge on the Monterey Peninsula for annual car week.

This year they will be mixing it up with over 5,000 firefighters and National Guard who have also converged on our community to fight the Soberanes fire.  The fire began on July 22, 2016 and as of today has destroyed over 67,000 acres, 57 homes and is only 50% contained. Not to worry the fire shouldn't negatively impact all the wonderful events planned.  But be sure to check for the latest fire and travel updates posted here just to be sure.

With that bit of housekeeping taken care of, here are some ideas for those of you looking to enjoy car week activities without breaking the bank.

Pebble Beach Tour d' Elegance (August 18, 2016)

This event is free, all it takes is a little planning. Over 150 classic cars will leave Pebble Beach at 7am out the Pebble Beach Gate and proceed down Aguajito Road toward Carmel Valley, cut over Via Malpaso through Tehama, turn west on Carmel Valley Road and head south at highway 1.  At Ripplewood Resort, 24 miles south of Carmel cars will turn around and head north pulling into Carmel-by-the-Sea around 11am. Use this map to plan where you want to view these classic cars on tour. Or just head into Carmel where they will be on display on Ocean Avenue until 2:30. While you are downtown please check out the Concours Cafe put on by Carmel Chamber of Commerce!!!!

These are just a few of the options for Car Week. For more information and a complete list please visit Pebble Beach Concours
