Calendar of Upcoming Events - May 6, 2016 to May 13, 2016

A quick rundown of the events for this coming week: 




1.  Winemakers' Celebration (Saturday May 7, 2016) 

The 24th Annual Winemakers' Celebration, featuring wines and winemakers of Monterey county's world class growing region returns to Carmel-by-the-Sea.  Dolores Street between Ocean and Seventh, and Seventh between Dolores and San Carlos will be transformed into a European village street festival with 35 wineries and 20 food vendors.  2 - 5pm Tickets and information



2.  Fort Ord Warhorse Day Celebration (Saturday May 7, 2016) 

Friends of the Fort Ord Warhorse host a celebration of the horses and soldiers at Marina Equestrian Center. Featuring a cavalry jumping and riding demonstration by Freed Klink of the U.S. Cavalry Association and a lecture on Pancho Villa and the U.S. Cavalry Punitive Expedition, the last cavalry expedition in the country, by Canadian photographer and art historian Jeff Wall.  11am - 2pm, 5th and Ninth Avenue, Marina, Free.  Information www.FortOrdWarHorse.org. 


3.  35th Annual Steinbeck Festival (Friday May 6 - Sunday May 8, 2016) 

This years annual festival at the National Steinbeck Center in Salinas features speakers, tours, musicians, and craft beer. The theme From Salinas to the Sea of Cortez: Steinbeck on Land and Sea honors the 75th anniversary of the publishing of Sea of Cortez in 1941. More information and a full schedule visit www.steinbeck.org
