Run In The Name of Love 2016 - Carmel by the Sea, California
Run In The Name of Love is a unique event where individual runners and walkers
pay tribute to someone special in their life. This Father’s Day, Mike and I are running for our family members who are
living and those who have passed before us.
The weather couldn't be better. The course is beautiful and we look to see some very fast times (relatively speaking).
We are joined by our friend Jenny Rose and her family who are running in memory of Jenny's daughter Madison Rose.

Local resident and four time Big Sur Marathon winner Adam Roach is expected to complete the 5K in 15 minutes.
The rest of us will take a bit longer. (Editor's Note: Major props to Adam Roach for being such a nice guy and putting up with us. I challenged him to a race today and to his credit he was able to eek out a win right at the end by a scant 13 minutes. I could tell he was worried.)

Mayor Steve Dallas opens the events, Susan Love reminds us
why we run, Myles Williams sings
the National Anthem, and we are off.
The 5K heads south on San Carlos, turns left on Santa Lucia, right on Rio Road...
as it passes Mission Ranch.
Left on 15th past River School.
Then left on Carmelo past
Carmel River Wetlands
Carmel River Wetlands
Carmel Point is about half way!
Carmelo turns into Scenic.
Past the "Butterfly House"
and the Henry Johnson House, both built by Frank Wynkoop in the early 1950s.
Round the corner to a view of the iconic house built by Frank Lloyd Wright and views of Carmel Beach and Pebble Beach.
At Cooke's Cove (Scenic and 13th)
we catch up with the 2K runners
and their furry friends.
Finally we finish at the parking lot at the base of Ocean Avenue.
Its not too early to register for next years race which takes place on June 18, 2017. We'll be there and hope to see you too!
Until next time Happy Adventures!
