A quick rundown of events for the next two weeks in and around Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.  


Book Signing

1. Meet and Greet Pilgrim's Way Book Store - July 23, 2016 (11am - 1pm) 




Alissandra Dramov and Lynn A. Momboisse will be on hand at Pilgrim's Way on Dolores between Fifth and Sixth in downtown Carmel to sign copies of their book Historic Homes and Inns of Carmel-by-the-Sea. This book features 150 historic homes and inns of Carmel depicted in full color photography, along with interesting biographical and architectural details, as well as a link to an interactive Google map with the locations of all properties. 

Live Music, Food, & Drink

2. Carmel-by-the-Glass July 22, 2016 (5 - 8pm)
Restaurateur Rich Pepe and rancher and winemaker Jack Galante present a Summer Fiesta Garden Party in the gardens at La Playa Hotel (Camino Real & Eighth). Enjoy fiesta-style food and wines from local tasting rooms in Carmel.  Tickets are $65 per person, event benefits the Carmel Mission Foundation.    

3.  79th Annual Carmel Bach Festival July 16 - 30, 2016
This festival takes place at different venues throughout the Carmel and Monterey area. Check the calendar of events for a list of all activities. On a budget here is a list of free activities. For tickets and more information see www.bachfestival.org or call 831/624-1521.



4.  Evenings By The Bay - Monterey Bay Aquarium, 886 Cannery Row, Monterey


Take advantage of extended hours at the Monterey Aquarium while enjoying wine, food, music and more on Saturdays and Sundays from July 2 to September 4.  Aquarium admission includes the extended hours till 8pm, but note that not all exhibits will be open during those extended hours. Locals receive reduced admission price after 6pm. For more information call 831/648-4800 or visit montereybayaquarium.org.

5. Carmel Plaza Summer Music Series (Junipero and Ocean Avenue, Carmel) 


Carmel Plaza's Summer Live Music Series is free to the public!!!  A food and drink package may be purchased for $15 per person.  Every Friday (July 8 to August 26) 5pm to 7pm.  Just show up and rock out!!!

Friday July 22 - Chicano All Stars Band (400 Gourmet Burgers, I Brand & Family Wines, Alvarado Street Brewery) 

Friday July 29 - Velvet Plum (Il Fornaio, Folktale Winery & Vineyards, Odonata Wines)

Live Theater 

6.  Mary Poppins at the Golden Bough Theater Carmel-by-the-Sea (Monte Verde between 8th and 9th)

Pac Rep presents the always fun and entertaining stage show, Mary Poppins. For dates, times, and ticket prices visit Pacific Repertory Theater .

7.  The Addams Family at the outdoor Forest Theater (Mountain View and Santa Rita Street Carmel-by-the-Sea) July 21 - 24, 2016

The Forest Theater Guild along with Paraphrase presents a limited run of a new musical comedy The Addams Family.  For information click here.  

8.  Evita at the Monterey Peninsula College Theater Department July 14 - 31, 2016 (980 Fremont Street, Monterey)

On the Morgan Stock Stage MPC Theater Department presents Evita with lyrics by Tim Rice and Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, directed by Gary Bolen. For tickets visit here.

9.  106th Rodeo Salinas Salinas Sports Complex 1034 N. Main Street, Salinas 


Buckle up the California Rodeo Salinas is in town. This event is one of the top 20 regular season rodeos in the US and draws over 700 of the best cowboys and cowgirls across America. The calendar, events and hours can be found here and tickets here.
