A quick rundown of events for the next two weeks as the Holiday Season kicks off in and around Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.

Thanksgiving 1

If you plan on going out for Thanksgiving Dinner November 24, 2016, here are a few places to check out: 

Anton & Michel (Carmel Court of the Fountains) In addition to their regular dinner menu a three-course Thanksgiving dinner is served from 1pm to 8pm, $42 for adults, $21 for children 12 and under.  (831-624-2406)

The Grill on Ocean Avenue (Ocean between Lincoln and Dolores) serves up their regular dinner as well as a three-course Thanksgiving dinner from 12pm to 8pm, $36 for adults, $18 for children under 12. (831-624-2569)

Pacific's Edge Restaurant (Hyatt Carmel Highlands, 120 Highlands Drive, Carmel) serves a prix fixe menu from 4pm to 8pm, $95 for adults, $45 for children 5 to 12, children under 5 dine free. (831-622-5445)

Turkey dinner is served from 4pm to 6:30pm, $14.99 per plate! (831-649-2699)


Old Fisherman's Grotto (39 Fisherman's Wharf, Monterey 831-375-4604) and The Fish Hopper (700 Cannery Row, Monterey 831-372-8543) Traditional Thanksgiving from 11am, $26.95 for adults and $14.96 for children.

November 25, 2016 kick off Black Friday at Carmel Plaza with holiday sales, then relax in the festively decorated patio and enjoy live music from 12:30 to 2:30pm by Monterey County POPS! Youth Soloists. 

November 26, 2016 Celebrate Small Business Saturday at Pilgram's Way Community Bookstore & Secret Garden! (Dolores between Sixth and Fifth, Carmel) Open from 10am to 6pm, Pilgrim's Way will feature local authors all day on hand to sign books.  Kathryn Gualtieri author of the Nora Finnegan Carmel Mystery series will be on hand from 1:30 to 2:15pm and Lynn Momboisse co-author of Historic Homes & Inns of Carmel by the Sea will be there from 2:30 to 3:15pm. 



Ice Skating by the Bay 2016 starts Monday, November 28, 2016.  Celebrate the holidays along the scenic coastline of Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey. The ice skating rink will be located at Custom House Plaza behind the Portola Hotel & Spa until January 8, 2017. Admission is $13 for adults, $11 for children 12 and under, skate rental fee is $3.  Hours Monday - Saturday 11am to 10pm and Sunday 12pm to 8pm. 


 
December 2, 2016,  Carmel-by-the-Sea annual City Holiday Tree Lighting at Ocean Avenue and Juniper.  Santa Claus will arrive at 3:30pm and Mayor Steve Dallas will light our tree around 5:45pm.  Following this event Carmel Plaza will host their annual open house until 7pm.  FREE


December 2, 2016 annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Colton Hall Lawn (570 Pacific Street, Monterey) carols, candles, cookies, cider, and music 5pm to 6pm. FREE

December 4, 2016 Carmel Heritage Society hosts their 18th annual Inns of Distinction Tour 2 to 5pm.  Purchase tickets on line $35 for Carmel Heritage members, and $40 for non-members. Ticket price includes tours of historic hotels, light bites from some of Carmel's great restaurants, and wine tasting.

December 9, 2016 Carmel by the Glass Winter Holiday Party at La Playa Hotel (Camino Real and Eighth, Carmel) 5 to 8pm, $75 includes all access to wine tasting and appetizers.
